Bob Trezona, the AC in the November "Trial by Fire" shoot down was from 68-501. Hopefully, my story will get you to put your notes down for your family. They will appreciate it.

Excellent writing for an officer, that just so happened to be one hell of a pilot too. Us chiefs in the left back paid attention to stuff like that ya know. lol

Found all about that transition of lift thingie when I was offered the chance to fly my own bird one day.. The PIP never shudda asked if I wanted to take off. I did all right, and pulled too much torque, which meant that as soon as we got back in, your truly spent the next 8 hours pulling the super shaft, making it spotless for x-ray, and then getting it all greasy again for reinstall..

Great, thanks for doing this. Family has been after me to record my 20 years or at least highlights. I commented on FB where I saw this first. I was 67-25/68-501, was in the 25% that got gun qual at Rucker but was sent to AMOC and actually utilized in that capacity in all of my flying assignments. Many of your tragic events shared here are near and dear to me as I was in 20th Trans at Cu Chi Aug 68-69. Pretty sure your aircraft with major damage came to us and I processed aircraft for incountry repair or higher level of repair at depot of factory or washed out of inventory. As such the reports I worked with told details not seen by many. My second tour was in same Bn in Avionics GS, by then I was also a Signal RLO and dual rated.
